On Friday HQ and I walked over the fell to Cartmel. Such a cute, quaint village! Lovely views during the walk as well. And very cute shops. I picked up quite a few trinkets, including a pair of sterling silver bat earrings. I also became somewhat obsessed with the ducks living in the stream. They were adorable! And ever cuter was the fact that the stream was so shallow they were actually standing on the rocks on the bottom rather than swimming.
We also visited the Priory in Cartmel. Apparently the monastery ws destroyed by Henry VIII but the Priory was saved as they were able to claim it was where the local parish worshipped every week.
